About the Owner

Matthew Lucci

President, Music Director

Music director, studio musician, and performer: Matthew Lucci has had opportunities that most dream of. From touring in a cruise liner as a teen, getting accepted into a prestigious music school, to traveling the world as a professional touring musician, and helping in far away communities as a missionary, even working as a studio musician playing with Grammy award winning artists. Now with his own business and family in Colorado Springs, Lucci aspires for something more. A community where musicians and performers are connected and know where to go and how to achieve their dreams!

A Different Approach to Lessons

Ever wonder what your true potential could be if you were really connected to a thriving music community? That's what Lucci Music's president Matthew Lucci sets out to accomplish for his students. There is no need to reinvent the wheel, but there are so many things that "instructors" sell themselves short on, and it gives a bad rep, sometimes even just to the thought of lessons.

Some things never change... but should

Most instructors attended recitals as young students... and really didn't enjoy the experience per-say, nor gain much from it. So why are they trying to repeat the same teaching strategies? Instead, let's think like a student... aren't we taking lessons (the majority of us) to gain experience? How about a concert/jam session, where the students also get a chance to work on their improvisation skills, nerves racking, sweat pumping and all? On top of all that... let's hold annual professional concerts where the students get to shine!

What about the fact that instructors have to play good-cop/bad-cop? Scheduling, refunds, payments, phone calls, policies, oh-yea, and that little thing called lessons. Let's get rid of all that, give them a staff, and let them focus strictly on preparing lessons and the musical path of the students.

Don't forget the gigs! Let's get students connected in the community, and when Lucci Music receives calls for "professional musicians" then we should turn it into a great opportunity to contract out to the students. When students show initiative and consistency, they deserve professional rewards!

We can achieve something great together!

There is a lot of work that has to be done, but we hope to change the norm - with the help and enthusiasm of our client base - and grow a business that helps students reach their full potential. Join us as we build a music hub and a wonderful community!

our history

Lucci Music started with an open door of opportunity, and an educated and professional musician working in the insurance field. As a new home-owner back in 2004, Matthew Lucci decided he was not going to stand by and let his musical career dwindle, but that it was time to open a world of music to Colorado Springs. Quiting insurance, touring as a professional musician, working as a studio musician, and turning his home into a lesson studio, he started just with a handful of students back in 2005. Lucci took his students to a new level of playing, introducing them to a wide variety of styles while giving them performance opportunities. The open door presented itself when two of his guitar students (un-benownced to each-other) had a business plan, and an empty office space. Collaborating together, Lucci Music was born Jan 1, 2008 on North Academy in Colorado Springs, and has not looked back since!
